I find the Assessment Center process is MUCH better than questions.

Having a candidate actually get active in project planning, group leading, modeling, crisis event handling, and seeing them "work in action" is a LOT better than question-answer interviews. Unless you are career trained interviewer who knows how to assess the "whole person" and their verbal and non-verbal responses, question-answer is a waste of time. I have never met one exec or recruiter who knows how to interview properly. Using the Assessment Center brings in AD's and Presidents from other University's to sit in on the process, assess the capabilities, and see the candidates function in a real world environment. Anything less is, well, getting what you pay for in that process.
