Regardless of outcome, this is proof they are competitive! But that means..
That means the comfort of the "occasional blowout", or the "bad loss" should be the anomaly now. This team has proven it can be competitive. Now, the job is to continue that.
Anyone disappointed in this loss (and can't recognize the growth and maturity) has expectations that will never be met. The term "baby steps" has never meant more than now ... but the recent results have exceeded that moniker's intention. I see good things. I am happy.
Success is awesome. I see this as success. BUT, I think I will withhold total judgement until ECU faces an equivalent opponent. Nothing stinks more than playing well against a team that is favored just to simply get the doors blown off by a "non-competitor"!
