The group I was with seemed to agree on.....

the difference in the weekend. It was the Bruin's first baseman. Toglia came to play. He killed us in the first 2 games. We were essentially one horse short in the series. We hit zero HRs.

I will say Jake Washer is one hell of a defensive catcher. I didn't see one ball get by him. The UCLA catcher had several get away from him. Turner Brown came to play as did the rest of the team. We just didn't get some key hits like they did but Toglia stepped up in key moments. In hindsight he should have gotten 3 intentional walks but anyone can say that today.

I left disappointed that we lost all 3 but proud of the Pirate baseball team. They never folded or were intimidated. They just didn't pull out the close games. I wouldn't be shocked if we play again in Omaha. We have a very solid team and the kids will not forget this weekend's experience anytime soon.
