I used to think the same thing but I’m not sure I do now. I sit in section 18, right next to the isle of section 20 and have had seats there for 8-10 yrs. There are groups of young people, In section 20, I’d say in their late 20-early 30s that have been there for years as well. While we may not consider them as die hard as we were/are, I see younger fans that hardly ever miss a game. They are a rowdy bunch and very entertaining to listen to. 3-9 x 3years is what has really killed us. Heck even old die hards have lost their passion. Scotty Mo cost our university and local businesses millions and millions in ticket sales, concession sales, hotel rooms, restaurant sales and so on.
I think where the younger fans are not as supportive is in away games. When my group of friends were in our 20-30s we made tons of road trips (VT, Georgia, Auburn, SC...) because of financial reasons, I think the younger crowd tends to spend their money on things that are of higher priority to them.
Hopefully, MH will right the ship and the Fick will sell out again soon.
