The same reason it doesn't take years to develop a Zion Williamson, we are


starting behind the 60 or so P5 schools for the pick of the litter in recruiting the "natural" OL/DL prospects. There are not even enough of those guys to fill the P5 cupboard, so we get mostly projects and the occasional upper level LOCAL guy that slips through the cracks. Eastern NC doesn't have as many locals to fall through the cracks like a Dallas, Texas or a Philadelphia, PA or a Cincinnati, Ohio or even a New Orleans or Orlando. So it takes longer to develop projects. Even if we have a guy with heart, like a Kendall Futrell, he is linebacker size trying to be a DL. I think Houston will make strides in this area because of his personality, but it takes more time (and upperclassmen)
