Renovation costs don't explain cutting the program

Yes, the facility is outdated and could use renovation for competition.
But that doesn't change that fact that they STILL USE IT for teaching. Dive training for maritime history students and other programs is provided there. Also PhysEd classes, swimming classes, water safety. They can just say no to the renovations as in previous years and keep the swim program.
And I don't think the renovation costs were part of the 4.9 million savings they announced. The renovation costs were higher than that from what I've seen people saying in other threads.
