That's the worst part


Unfortunately, data should NEVER become politicized. It is the one truth out of all of this that we should be able to rely on without a doubt.

I will say this though. A lot of the data is publically available and free to download (check the CDC, JHU, etc...). Every so often I download it and double-check the data to see if what I'm reading in the news is true or not. Anomalies, outliers, and possible "fake" data can be discovered fairly quickly with a few simple statistical tests.

I think the bigger problem lies in that a lot of people are unsure about an analysis they are being shown and whether or not that interpretation of the data is valid or not.
