The fact that our PROGRAM history does not give us the big edge is the real

problem here. We have a history of success as a program, with wins over some decent schools, a couple of past Championships, a reputation for being that Giant Killer, and you would hope we would be in a position to be rated over them at this point in our history versus their 10 year football history. Yet, we are not, and are struggling and stretching to find positives. This train wreck started in 2013 and 2014, and you might even say it started when Skip left as the depth on the team was not deep at all. He won, but he recruited for the short term success. Ruff and LR recruited well for football talent but not for overall skills and educational strengths. We had very little talent showing in 2014 when the wheels fell off at Temple. Their last two recruiting classes basically vanished. The rest we know about from then until now.

The fact that we, as a Program, are hoping for a win in this game is sad. The fact this game is a gauge is sad. Can we really use it as one? If we beat them bad, does that mean we are really good or they are really bad? This game is a help, and a win will be a confidence builder, but it will be USF and those future games that define this team as better, the same, or worse.
