Two Places actually both in Johnston County!!!! Both unique and very good

1st would be Charlie's BBQ although I heard Charlie retired for the 2nd time and now it is called JT's BBQshop or something along those lines! In the 40/42 area or "Cleveland" right across from the Cleveland Presbyterian Church.

2nd would be the Redneck BBQ Lab at Exit 319 (McGee's Crossroads) and anything you get there is fantastic and different.

Both places have very good Eastern NC BBQ if you are not wanting a brisket, but hard to compete with Stephenson's right down the road.. It's legendary along the lines of B's BBQ or Skylight Inn.

Hands down I would recommend any of the three places for any food. You will find something to eat and it will be good! Miss patronizing them as it's a longer trip now!
