Yeah Alabama kicked the crap out of Ohio State too

They have a big recruiting advantage. If you go to Alabama, Ohio State, or Clemson you have an opportunity to play in the CFP. That’s a great added recruiting tool. Come here and you have a chance to play for a National Championship. You have to expand it. Expanding it would have an impact on recruiting, but you would need to do it on a grand scale, 16 or 24 teams. Some of these other schools could potentially start getting some of these recruits if they had a chance to play for a title. Plus you would have less opting out. Look at these numbers. Every other postseason has figured it out.

% of teams in the postseason:
FCS 24 of 127 teams = 18.9%
NCAA basketball 68 of 350 teams = 19.43%
NCAA baseball 64 of 297 teams = 21.55%
MLB - 8 of 30 teams = 26.66%
NFL - 14 of 32 teams = 43.75%
NHL - 16 of 31 teams = 51.61%
And the FBS?
FBS 4 of 130 teams = 3.08%

The Alabama is going to crush somebody’s dreams argument holds very little water. There would be so many more fun and interesting games to watch if the CFP was expanded compared to the meaningless bowls we have leftover now.
