If

a recruit cannot go at least 8 innings all out, he is not starter material. Ridiculous a 20 year old can only pitch 3-4 innings. I believe college coaches are completely over-coaching to demand full control over every pitch. Pitching a full outing actually strengthens the arm. I'm thankful I didn't have to play under ego-maniacs that try to control the game like college coaches now do. This control doesn't help a pitcher if and when they make it into pro ball. They eventually don't know if they are a starter or reliever. Who wants to take the ball and the coach says, "just give me 3 innings." Ridiculous. They are so concerned with roster adjustments they miss how to approach and coach against the opposing roster. Like pitching to the opposing teams All-American hitter and a first rounder three consecutive times while he could be pitched around or given first base. The result was a HR and 2 doubles with 6 RBI. Stop the over-coaching.
