I know its hard to give State credit for anything but maybe...

we should figure out what they are doing in their athletic department and try to replicate it.

Like us, they are substantially far behind their conference mates in funding. Yes, they get much more money from their ACC payout than ECU/AAC does but everyone in their conference gets that amount. The only public school in the ACC that has a smaller athletic budget than NCSU is Georgia Tech, making State 8th out of 9 teams in terms of athletic funding. Despite that, NC State is relatively competitive in just about every sport and pretty good at a few. They are just about guaranteed 6-8 wins in football and 20 wins in basketball. Not elite by any means but their fans show up for it as they are in the Top 25 in attendance for both football and basketball just about every year.

ECU's biggest asset as a non-Power5 school is/was its fanbase and outside of baseball, it seems to be in hibernation, not surprisingly given results. But even before the Ruffin 2015 collapse, we hadn't come close to a sellout crowd for a non-ACC game since the App State game in 2012. Attendance and season tickets continued to decline even through a 10-win campaign in 2013 that had wins over State and UNC. Hell lets not even talk about basketball attendance.

We need some sort of positive buzz back in the program. Half the fanbase is still living on the '92 Peach Bowl high and the other half only show up to tailgate. I don't have solutions just made an account to make sure the Internet heard my opinions which is the hot thing to do in America these days
