Not going to make a huge difference in recruiting, plus you've got the transfer portal now. Houston won't be able to go out and get the money he's making now. He might would land a FCS job at one of the lesser knowns (VMI, etc.) but the bigs buck will be gone. So what does ECU have to lose?
If he turns it around, fine, give him an extension. If he shops the turnaround, fine, let him go and hire somebody else.
It's way past time ECU stop making failed hires wealthy while we are left with the bitter pills to swallow.
