Mostly observations from today’s scrimmage with Kuch, Shenkman, Yesavage, Ritchie, and Brooks getting mound appearances.

Overall, pitching was good. Keep an eye on Shenkman. He sat 90-92 on FB and looks very comfortable and in command as a FR.

Yesavage threw 92-94 and gave up an absolutely crushed bomb to AMack on a 94 heater down the middle.

Ritchie is a young lefty also in the low 90’s with a tight breaking ball.

Brooks made a debut late in the scrimmage. FB 90-93. First appearance in over 2 years. Glad to see him back. Was throwing hard. Wish he could hit and play but likely limited to pitching and maybe DH roles.

Midway through CG called timeout and gathered the team together. Another coaching moment as before guys were just going through the motions. A lot more vocal and more energy after.

Finally, team is deep and talented at catcher. Newton is solid. McCrystal, Rezek, Wilcoxen, Edwards are all versatile and look good. Edwards & McCrystal are solid defenders with strong cannon arms. Will absolutely shut down a running game. Godwin has a knack for finding versatile catchers. Rezek and Wilcoxen have both spent time this fall in LF and have played well. All can hit.

Big scrimmage on Sunday vs Liberty. Come out and watch if you can.
