So a 5-6 team losing to an 11-1 top 10 team is a low point???..

The only low point for Beamer was his mouthing off before the game about rumors (that turned out to be true) of ECU getting a Peach Bowl bid after the game. He was whining about VT not being talked about for a bowl like ECU was. Guess he didn't realize a 5-4 team from a so-so program didn't generate the interest that a 8-1 ranked team that had already beaten 2 top 25 teams did. VT went on to lose to ECU then UVA and that shut him up about bowl talk as they were not eligible at 5-6. And you are wrong about the timing of Beamer being made to shake up his staff. That did not occur after the '91 season. It was after the '92 season when VT went 2-9 that Beamer was forced to change his staff. Turns out Beamer needed someone from the outside to intervene and it worked out very well for him.
