VaTech reminds me of other programs that get a taste of success
at the highest level and come to expect that success year in and year out. It's just not in the cards for most programs. Even Alabama, THE OSU and Georgia go through lean years (lean for them). If Texas, USC, LSU, Florida et al... can't maintain that level why would the Hokies think they can? High expectations are fine, but when not met create a great fall. There's a chance the Hokies make a terrific hire and return to prominence. There's every bit as good a chance they make a bad hire and continue their slide.
