Guy was born in Columbus Ohio and spent 20 years of his life at Ohio St as a player and a coach. There is a reason he took the Cincinnati job and so far has stayed there. Cincinnati pays him $3.4 million per year and with Big12 invite plus their love of deficit spending will probably offer him $6million per year to keep him longer. He would love to have the Ohio St job of course but Ryan Day is doing very well and is only 42 years old. Ohio St fans would actually prefer Fickell and his Ohio St blood lines over Day who is a New Hampshire guy who played College ball in New Hampshire and started coaching in 2002 for NH with stops at Temple, Florida, Boston College, NFL for 49ers and Eagles before ending up at Ohio St in 2017.

With all that said if LSU offers him $100 million that would be tough for anyone to turn down. I will say that even if he does well at LSU the moment Day stumbles at Ohio St and if they fire him Fickell would return to Ohio St for less money than LSU pays him especially if he thought his beloved Ohio St needed him.
