Whose Law of Averages Prevails?

See where Athlon Sports joins the vast majority of sports pundits liking the Bearcats to best the Pirates tomorrow, but by a much narrower margin than the line. Seems to me if this contest is tight going into the late 4th Q, the tide just may have turned for the Bucs prevailing in close contents vs losing as was the case earlier in the season. That is, if Memphis and Navy are any indication. DK may have to overcome DK for it to happen but hold on to your eye patches and tankards in that scenario, there could be a foul wind brewin on the main for that perfect season. Arrrrg

Athlon Final Analysis:

Many people have automatically given Cincinnati the win against ECU, including ESPN's Rece Davis, when he failed to mention the Pirates were left on the Bearcats schedule. But as another personality from the same network always says, "not so fast, my friend."

ECU has all the tools to create chaos in the College Football Playoff. The Pirates are playing their best football and will need to continue that if they have a chance at the upset.

In the end, the Bearcats seem to find a way to escape with the win even when the odds are against them. On the road in a hostile environment, they will likely find a way to do it again.

Prediction: Cincinnati 38, East Carolina 34
