The Boston market and Northeast cares nothing for college football.

I had a neighbor years ago (2006ish) that was a Rutgers grad. He flew a NY Football Giants banner every weekend during the season so he was a football fan. As I recall Rutgers beat Louisville in a tight game. Louisville was ranked in the top 5 at the time. Rutgers was undefeated well into the season and were ranked in the top 5 in the BCS after beating 'Cuse. I saw my neighbor at a Rose High football game, so I said, "You must be stoked about Rutgers this year." He looked at me and said "What do you mean?" I explained to him the situation and he kind of shrugged and said "I guess I probably ought to start watching them."

And that my friends, is why NoEast football is a non-factor. It's pro or nothing up there. BC, Rutgers, and the rest never get a headline above the fold nor the lead story on the local tele.
And that my friends is why the size of the market shouldn't be a factor even though it is.
