I keep reading we should get serious about basketball. Can someone tell me

what that means? We pay the head coach 1 mil plus. Not sure but, one would think that has to be in the top half of D1. We have the practice facility, Minges is not the top facility in the country, but I have seen a lot worse. We charter when we can - our budget situation dictates that right now. We try to schedule up, but teams won't play us. Correct me if I am wrong but I think we have a players lounge. We don't have slides, barber shop etc. for the players, but neither does 99% of the schools in America. Our recruiting budget could probably be more, but our budget woes dictate that too.

Please help me understand what we are missing relative to our situation and relative to similar institutions.
