The NCCU Football Coach mentioned on the WRAL Pigskin Preview that there is


discussion of the SWAC merging with the MEAC to form a super conference. Also in the same preview, Mack Brown mentioned "50 teams" being in the top 2 leagues (SEC and B10) and them hosting their own 16 team playoff. See link below for Mike Houston and other coach interviews, comments, expansion, NIL, etc.
