Media market has always been a farce… Those schools you mentioned…

…do not command those markets at all, and some barely even register. Don’t fall prey to that ages old BS excuse for excluding certain schools, including ECU. Terry Holland almost single-handedly destroyed the media market fallacy when he showed the numbers of actual eyeballs ECU commanded in the major media markets in NC and the region……

If you want to call it taking schools to block other conferences from certain recruiting areas, I will absolutely give you that. Certainly conferences want large metropolitan areas in their stable for a variety of reasons, but falling back on that old tired market crutch is a non starter…..
