I am 65 years old and grew up in Gville and I don't recall any homes permanently displaying an American flag when I was young and growing up yet I am confident of the patriotism of the citizens of Gville in my early years and specifically my neighborhood (mowed most of their yards at age of 12). There were at least 4 veterans (that I was aware of) within a one block area that I lived in (Summit Street). The only places I recall that regularly flew flags were government bldgs such as the courthouse and the Post Office. I believe all the public schools also flew flags (at least Wahl-Coates did). On the other hand... flags were in prominent display everywhere during the Jan 6th attack on the Capitol of the U.S. Most patriots would certainly question these insurrectionists allegiance to God and County as their actions were clearly intended to prop up one individual as a dictator and to overthrow our democratic republic.
